Birth: 13 October 1896 in Stockholm, Sweden
Death: 16 March 1979 in West Covina, Los Angeles, California, USA
Arvid was born in 1896 to Carl Edward Brinck and Augusta Maria Ramberg. He grew up in Stockholm with his family which included several siblings.
When he was about 25 (around 1920), Arvid and his widowed mother sailed to the United States from a port in Copenhagen, Denmark. Upon their arrival, they moved to Utah.
It was not long after the family settled in Utah that Arvid sent (and paid the way) for Juliana Ingeborg Borg (who went by Ingeborg). The couple was married and sealed in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1921 and had two children together.
Arvid always worked hard to support his family, before, during and after the Great Depression. He owned a gas station, and had several other properties that he would lease out. He was very handy and made money by working in people’s houses and even worked in the homes of a few movie stars while living in California.
Additionally, my great grandmother (his daughter) remembers that he was also very good at bartering for things, and that this is how they got some of their kitchen appliances.
In 1943 he became a naturalized citizen of the United States, as shown by the card below:
Arvid died in West Covina, California and was buried in the Rose Hills Cemetery in Whittier, California.
